Now available - RBVL Oval Car Stickers

RBVL Oval StickerPerfect for your car, truck, or anywhere else a sticker can get stuck, check out our oval Robbinsville RBVL stickers. You've probably seen people driving that had oval stickers with a variety of letters on them identifying different towns or countries, but did you where this all began? The oval car sticker's roots are in the United Nations going as far back as 1949 and the idea of putting stickers on vehicles came from the UN's 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic. The idea was to create an easy way for officials in Europe to identify the origin of vehicles because more people than ever were driving and creating more and more traffic.

RobbinsvilleWeb Seeks Sports Writers

Love sports? We're looking for someone to help bring local sporting news to RobbinsvilleWeb. If you're interested in helping out by contributing news stories about any sports team or group, youth or adult, email admin@robbinsvilleweb.com. You don't need to write full color, blow-by-blow accounts of an event to contribute (although it wouldn't hurt), even event highlights or pictures would be great.

Mayor Costs Township $250,000 and Other Updates

posted on June 27, 2010 11:18:49 am

Well folks it's been a few months since my last update and I apologize for the delay. I've been busy with other projects (including my own life) and to be honest, there hasn't been a load of other news going on since my last post. However, I'm here now to bring everyone up to speed. In the last news post I reported how the referendum to build a ... (read more)

Do you watch ABC (channel 7 or channel 707) on Cablevision? Well as of March 7, 2010 you won't be able to get it anymore. Sound familiar? It should. Cablevision pulled the same stunt with the Food Network and HGTV in January. For a Bloomberg news report on this, see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrXeBivNLok According to http://www.saveabc7.c... Robbinsville-Allentown Road (Route 526) Speed Limit to Drop to 35mph?

posted on January 21, 2010 6:07:09 pm

In it's infinite wisdom, the town council is planing to ask the county for a reduction of the speed limit on Route 526 from 45 mph to 35 mph. If this sounds at all familiar to you it should, they tried the same thing years ago and failed. At the January 14the meeting, the council unanimously approved a resolution to send a letter to the county requ... (read more)

Property taxes

Posted on July 27, 2010 @ 8:15 am by science professor in Government

Was it just me, or did anyone else just experience an almost 7% property tax increase just prior to the state passing its 2% cap? This is really infuriating especially as the mayor has at least stated that his hand was forced a few years ago to reassess all of our property values at what is now a significant over-valuation. So, in the spirit of guilty until proven innocent, instead of the county...

My Taxes Go Up To Pay for Stupid Signs???

Posted on July 11, 2010 @ 4:18 pm by evileye in Living

So I see that we now have at least three of the six township signs up and I have to ask. What idiot thought that we need six signs at over $2600 EACH (http://www.robbinsville-twp.org/sign_press_release.html) while our taxes continue to go up??? That's over FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS for STUPID SIGNS in an economy where we're laying off people left and right. But obviously we need to rebrand this tow...

Re: Eliminate our school district

Posted on June 28, 2010 @ 8:40 am by science professor in Schools

Thanks to UWB for a response. It seems that the example given is an extreme. A shore town's school district is, of course, rich in property value and poor in school age kids. We elect school boards the job of which is to understand the specifics of the school district. If their charge becomes how to attain economy of scale, then let them suggest one or more plans. My off the cuff suggestions ...

Re: Eliminate our school district

Posted on May 27, 2010 @ 3:50 am by UWB in Schools

When people advocate school district consolidation as a mean to save money, it sounds good in the abstract but is often lacking in hard numbers. "Let's get rid of administrators" is the rallying cry since administrators don't do much and make a lot of money. Here is the problem when two districts look at consolidation. One district often has the students and the other has the property...

Yes, they deliver within the Robbinsville and East Windsor area. Try the Rigatoni Ripi if you like pasta with red sauce (loaded with home-made sausage and meatballs) or if you like lighter pasta try the cappellini michela made with tuna, garlic and olive oil!
