Mayor Sues Two Robbinsville Residents

June 18th, 2009

875413_47541979Robbinsville Mayor David Fried has sued two Robbinsville residents, one a Sharon Elementary school secretary, over a web site which he believes spread lies about him before the last mayoral election. Fried has targeted Tara Whitlock and Laura Friedman even though he has admitted that he’s not sure who actually created the site. Apparently Ms. Whitlock forwarded the allegedly libelous website’s address to teachers and other employees at Sharon school.

The site contained “a whole litany of accusations claiming I owned property in town, committed crimes, all sorts of things,” he said, while adding that none of the statements are true. One of the entries on the site related to action taken against the mayor by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Another claimed that he had been charged with assaulting a police officer when he was in his 20s.”
